At LLA Therapy, we provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy that meets the individualized needs of your child.

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) work together and use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to increase socially significant behaviors. The science of ABA helps us to understand how learning happens and how behavior is affected by the environment. ABA is focused on decreasing behaviors that impede learning or are harmful while increasing skills that are meaningful for that child.

At LLA Therapy, we provide ABA services in our clinic settings and offer intensive 1:1 therapy that addresses increasing communication, receptive/expressive language, fine/gross motor skills, play skills, social skills, and daily living skills. LLA values treatment integrity, family and teacher collaboration, and multi-disciplinary treatment.

Additional ABA Therapy Information

  • Learner Readiness: Eye contact, staying seated at desk or in circle time, following simple instructions, task completion
  • Group Skills: Following group instructions, personal space awareness, eating with others
  • Self Care: Dressing, feeding, grooming, hygiene
  • Social & Communication: Greetings, conversational skills, sharing, cooperative play
  • Behavior Reduction: We address challenging behaviors that impede an individual’s independence or are harmful to themselves or others

Applied behavior analysis is an evidence-based practice proven to be effective for individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Autism can be detected as early as 18 months of age and a diagnosis by the age of 2 years old is considered very reliable. Integrated developmental and behavioral intervention are recommended as soon as a diagnosis is made. (CDC – Autism Screening)

At our clinics we specialize in providing ABA services to children who need 25-40 hours per week of therapy.

  • We believe our clients benefit most being in a multidisciplinary setting where all professionals collaborate. LLA Therapy offers OT, PT, SLP, ABA, and Intervention Specialists all in one location where children can receive all of their services throughout their therapy week. All of our clients receive free OT, PT and speech screenings within the first 60 days.
  • Clinic services help with preparation for school. Our kids follow a school-like schedule, transitioning between activities with peers. Our Intervention Specialists provide academic support and materials that we incorporate into daily routines and activities.
  • Therapy services are offered in the presence of same age peers. Our clinic is set up with school in mind, to encourage peer interactions and to foster meaningful social relationships.
  • BCBA supervisors are available to provide hands on support and guidance.
  • There is reduced difficulty with staff transitions: Your child is likely at least familiar with all staff in the clinic setting making sub sessions or team changes easier.

Parent involvement is an integral component of your child’s success. BCBAs regularly meet with families/caregivers to review tips and strategies to target generalization of skills learned in the clinic setting to the home and community. Our BCBAs strongly encourage parents to provide input on current goals and programming for their child.

ABA Therapy Process

Assessment

After receiving a diagnosis, the first step is scheduling an assessment with one of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts. The assessment will consist of a parent interview, observation and an initial assessment of your child’s skill set to develop a treatment plan. A recommendation of hours and frequency will be made following this assessment. We follow the guidelines of our Behavior Analyst Certification Board, with 20-40 hours of ABA per week recommended to provide the best possible chance of independence and success.

ABA Treatment

Your child’s individualized goals and treatment will be developed and regularly monitored by your child’s BCBA. Treatment goals target age appropriate skills and are based on standardized assessments and parent input. During your child’s day at our clinic, they will be 1:1 with a registered behavior technician leading them through their schedule.

Discharge and Transition

Although we’d love to keep our kids forever, our goal is always to transition them to their least restrictive environment, whether that is in kindergarten or a different grade level. Transitions vary based on the individual and timelines are driven by specific goals tracking independence and developmentally age-appropriate skills.
